March Brownie Bites Blogs
March Brownie Bites blogs were about topics I’m personally passionate about: treatments for fibroids that enable you to keep your uterus; how perimenopause affects millions of women at work; and my first post about tracking my biomarkers in my quest to live longer.
I was a bit delayed on this because my consultancy got a new client and I had to get up to speed with their business goals. π
Balance is the key to life!
March Brownie Bites Blog #1: Fibroid Treatment, Surgeries, and Ablations
By the age of 50, up to 80% of black women and up to 70% of white women have fibroids.
But at least 25% of fibroids cause symptoms so intense it affects our day-to-day lives. Andβ¦they donβt typically just stop growing. They get bigger and bigger, and their increased size equates to increased symptoms. There are options to remove fibroids and live a vibrant life!
Some of the options include:
1. Myomectomy: A surgery that removes just the fibroids, no organs or anything else!
2. Fibroid Ablation: These procedures heat up the fibroids and destroy them. MRI-guided ablation as well as sound-wave ablation are some of the newest treatments.
3. UFE: Uterine Fibroid Embolization cuts off the blood supply to fibroids, causing them to shrink or die.
All of of these procedures will save your uterus if that is what you desire. Learn more about the pros and cons of these treatments, as well as Hysterectomy, in this blog.
March Brownie Bites Blog #2: The Impact of Perimenopause & Menopause Symptoms at Work
More than a third of the 39 million+ working women over 40 in the U.S. have perimenopause and menopause symptoms that impact their work.
My March Brownie Bites quick takeaway:
We need to:
π° Understand the financial and economic impact.
π Stop the stigma.
β° Enable flexible schedules.
π‘ Allow remote work.
π₯ Cover the cost of lifestyle changes that alleviate symptoms.
π©ββοΈ Encourage midlife healthcare.

March Brownie Bites Blog #3: My Functional Health Journey (aka Guinea-Pigging Myself)
This is part 1 of my Functional Health 100+ biomarkers adventure, where I purposely got stuck with needles to draw out vials upon vials of blood! By doing this, I can understand what’s happening with my body before (if) any symptoms present. I can take action fast!
Here’s my Brownie Bites takeaway about Functional Health principles:
π° Our “real” age is not the same as our biological age.
π₯ Eat healthy foods.
πββοΈ Get exercise.
π Reduce stress.
π΄ Get enough sleep.
π§ Knowledge is power–getting insights into your biomarkers can help you correct things going down the wrong path.

As we spring into spring, I will be documenting more about my personal quest to reduce my biological age and optimize my health and fitness.
