This policy explains what information JulieElaineBrown.com collects, why it is collected, how it is used, and the choices available to you. It applies to this website, to the Illuminator newsletter, to Lumine, and to consulting enquiries made through this site.
1. Who We Are
Julie Elaine Brown Consulting, located in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, is the controller of the information described in this policy. Questions, requests, and deletion requests may be sent through the contact page.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide. Your name and email address when you join the newsletter or a waitlist. Your name, email address, and anything you choose to write when you submit a contact form or book a call. Your name, email address, and billing details when you subscribe to Lumine.
Lumine profile information. To generate your daily guidance, Lumine may ask for your date of birth and, for personalized features, your time of birth and place of birth. It may also collect self-reported information you enter yourself, such as how you slept, your energy, your activity, or your dietary preferences and exclusions.
Information collected automatically. Standard server and analytics information including IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page, and time of visit.
What we do not collect. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen.
3. Why We Use It
- To deliver Lumine and generate your daily content.
- To send the newsletter and product communications you have asked for.
- To process subscription payments and manage your account.
- To respond to enquiries and deliver consulting engagements.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Your birth information and self-reported entries are used for one purpose only, which is to generate your own content within Lumine. They are not used for advertising, are not used to build profiles for any other purpose, and are not disclosed to anyone except as described in Section 4.
4. Who We Share It With
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Information is shared only with service providers acting on our behalf, under contract and confidentiality obligations, and only as needed to run the business. These currently include our website host, our email platform, our payment processor, our scheduling tool, and our analytics provider. Payment card details go directly to the payment processor and are governed by its own privacy terms.
We may also disclose information where required by law, in response to lawful process, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case you will be notified.
5. Cookies and Tracking
This site uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, to remember preferences, and for aggregate analytics. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Refusing non-essential cookies will not prevent you from using the site. We honour Global Privacy Control signals where they are received.
6. How Long We Keep It
Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe. Lumine account and profile information is kept for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Records required for tax and accounting purposes are kept for the period required by law. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link in the message. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, including your Lumine birth and profile information, by contacting us. You may close your Lumine account at any time.
If you are in California. You have the right to know what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information. You will not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority. Where we process your information, we do so to perform our contract with you, on the basis of your consent for marketing communications, or for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it at any time.
We respond to verified requests within the time required by applicable law.
9. International Transfers
We are based in the United States and our service providers may process information in the United States and elsewhere. If you access this site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Children
This website and Lumine are intended for adults aged eighteen and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and it will be deleted.
11. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page, and where required by law we will notify you directly. Continued use of the website or Lumine after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
