The intelligence behind every card

Attuned to nature, grounded in science

Calibrated to nature’s clocks (circadian, infradian, ultradian, and lunar), Lumine designs movement that progresses with exercise science, plant-forward longevity nutrition, and a mindset practice to focus your day. All recommendations are tailored to your goals, challenges, and dietary preferences.

Movement

Look and feel better in your body

  • Designed for a midlife bodyAs Dr. Stacy Sims says, women are not small men. Every move is chosen for the muscle, bone, and balance that matter most from perimenopause on, and adjusts around any injury you share.
  • About eight minutes, whenever the day allowsFull-body sessions built to fit a morning, a lunch break, or an evening, done all at once or in short bursts that add up.
  • Strength and play, in rhythm with naturePower on your highest-energy days, recovery in the nights before a full moon, and seasonal outings to look forward to: a leap into autumn leaves, a hike in the first snow, a barefoot walk at the water’s edge.
Today’s movement on a Lumine card: a power day with a seasonal outing
Progresses on NASM’s Optimum Performance Training model: stability, then strength, then power.
The science behind your movement

Movement that rises and rests with nature.

Dr. Stacy Sims says it best: women are not small men. As we reach midlife, our fast-twitch muscle fibers decrease, leading to a slower metabolism, weight gain, and a loss of balance and speed (like catching yourself before a fall!).

Lumine’s movement library is designed especially for women in perimenopause and postmenopause. It blends chronobiology with NASM’s Optimum Performance Training model, the progression trainers use with their own clients (stability, then strength, then power), to match each workout to your energy. In the three to five nights before a full moon, sleep runs shorter, so Lumine pares the work down to balance and recovery. On your highest-energy days, it recommends plyometrics, sprints, and power-based movement. Steady-energy days call for slow, controlled strength work.

Lumine moves with the seasons too, recommending long hikes in the woods as the leaves turn, skiing in fresh snow, and barefoot walks on the beach in summer.

Agility, balance, and strength are linked to longer, healthier, and more independent lives, and Lumine pairs longevity science with a playful program you’ll look forward to each day.

“Exercise is the key to a healthy brain, and a better butt. The way we train at 50 determines how well we live at 80 and beyond.”Julie

Every day has its own energy. After the new moon, Lumine asks for your hardest work. In the nights before the full moon, when sleep runs shorter, it eases off, so hard work lands where recovery exists.

Designed by a certified personal trainer, for midlife women. Lumine follows the National Academy of Sports Medicine’s Optimum Performance Training model, the progression trainers use with their own clients: stability, then strength, then power.

Lumine weaves all three through every moon cycle, the way a trainer programs a real client, so stability shows up in every session and power comes in doses you can recover from. Every two months, the work goes one step deeper.

Where you begin depends on you. If you are new to movement, a power day means holding a little longer each round. If you train regularly, it means jumps and heavier lifts.

Fast-twitch muscle fibers fade first with age, and they are the ones that catch you mid-stumble. Heavy lifting and impact send muscle and bone the strongest signal to stay. In the LIFTMOR trial, postmenopausal women with low bone mass who lifted heavy and jumped twice a week improved bone density at the spine and hip.

Movement works better when your mind is in it. In an eight-week study in the European Journal of Sport Science, lifters who focused on squeezing the muscle grew their biceps by 12.4 percent, nearly double the 6.9 percent of lifters who focused only on moving the weight. A study in the European Journal of Applied Physiology found the same focus sent a stronger signal to the chest muscles during the bench press at light to moderate loads. This is why every Lumine card pairs the movement with a mantra.

Movement is brain care too. Exercise that recruits fast-twitch fibers raises BDNF, which psychiatrist Dr. John Ratey calls Miracle-Gro for the brain, and adults who exercise intentionally have a 30 to 50 percent lower risk of dementia.

Your answers shape every card. When you share an injury, such as your lower back, knees, hips, shoulders, wrists, pelvic floor, or bone density, the moves that load it never reach your card. When you choose a goal, from losing weight to mobility and balance, your movement and meals lean toward it.

Mindset

Start each day focused, optimistic, and empowered

  • A great day in your handsEach morning opens with a mantra and a short reflection chosen for that day’s energy, a few minutes that belong only to you.
  • Optimism, practicedOptimistic people live 11 to 15 percent longer on average and are far more likely to reach 85, and optimism grows stronger with practice.
  • A mind that moves the bodyFocusing on the working muscle nearly doubled strength gains in one study, so every card pairs your movement with a mantra, and “I moved” and “I made it” fill in your month as you go.
The top of a Lumine card, with the moon, the mantra, and the day’s energy
A mantra and reflection written for the energy of each day.
The moon, your sleep, and your mood

Your greatest ROI is living in alignment.

Wake up to a daily mantra and a short reflection for how to best embrace each day with a positive mindset. Studies from Harvard and Boston University show that high optimism is associated with an 11% to 15% longer lifespan on average, and higher odds of reaching age 85 or 90 and beyond. Choosing happiness helps lower stress and increase your motivation to eat well and work out, so the three disciplines compound for the ultimate wellbeing prescription.

At Rêve Health, the biomarker health company Julie co-founded, we included purpose and optimism mindset work and meditation practices along with lab work, since our minds, bodies, and spirit are intertwined.

“Embracing each day with optimism and reflection is linked to a happier, healthier life.”Julie

Sleep follows the moon. In a 2013 study at the University of Basel, people slept about 20 minutes less around the full moon, took longer to fall asleep, and had less deep sleep, in a lab with no view of the sky. A 2021 study in Science Advances found sleep starting later and running shorter in the three to five nights before the full moon, in cities and in communities without electricity.

So Lumine eases those days into walks and mobility, with an earlier night, dimmer light after dinner, and a cool, dark bedroom, and the work picks back up as the moon wanes.

As the moon wanes toward new, energy turns inward. Feeling lower in those last days is part of the rhythm, a time to release and rest, and the new moon opens your strongest days of the month.

The seasons carry their own energy too. Solstices, equinoxes, eclipses, and holidays shape the day, and New Year’s Day is a tired morning, whatever the moon says.

Purpose and optimism belong in a longevity practice. In a 2019 study of nearly 70,000 women from the Nurses’ Health Study, the most optimistic lived about 15 percent longer and were more likely to reach 85. In a study of nearly 7,000 adults over 50 published in JAMA Network Open, those with the weakest sense of purpose were more than twice as likely to die during the study as those with the strongest.

Your mindset changes what your body does with the work. In a Harvard study, hotel housekeepers told that their daily work counted as exercise lost weight and lowered their blood pressure within four weeks, with nothing else in their days changed. Each morning’s reflection and mantra are chosen for the energy of the day, so your mind and your body move in the same direction.

  • Seasonal, colorful, and deeply nourishingProduce at its nutritional peak: warming, anti-inflammatory plates as the light shortens, and bright, antioxidant-rich food when the sun is strong. As Chef Allen Campbell puts it, “Eat seasonally and for your environment.”

The science behind your meals

Nourishing longevity meals that fuel your energy and balance your weight.

Each day you receive a delicious recipe crafted by NASM Certified Nutrition Coach Julie Elaine Brown, combining the proven science of the plant-forward Mediterranean diet with peak-season ingredients. Our recipes shift with the seasons to deliver foods rich in the vitamins, minerals, and fiber your body craves. That means a watermelon and feta dish in summer, or acorn squash with brown rice and cranberries in the fall.

Your body and your cells change with the seasons, running more inflammatory in winter, so Lumine leans into warming, anti-inflammatory meals as the light shortens and antioxidant-rich produce when the sun is strong. As Chef Allen Campbell, who cooked for Tom Brady, puts it: “Eat seasonally and for your environment.”

Grounded in longevity nutrition to extend healthspan, each recipe helps you nourish deeply and thrive.

Colorful, fiber-rich, plant-forward food feeds the gut and helps cool the low-grade inflammation linked to aging.

“Food really is medicine.”Julie

Lumine meals follow the two eating patterns with the deepest evidence for a long, healthy life: Mediterranean and plant-forward. In a study that followed more than 25,000 women for 25 years, those who ate most closely to a Mediterranean pattern had up to 23 percent lower risk of dying from any cause. In PREDIMED, a Spanish trial of nearly 7,500 adults, a Mediterranean diet rich in olive oil or nuts cut heart attacks, strokes, and cardiovascular deaths by about 30 percent.

The colors on your plate are how nature packs in nourishment, and a plate built with protein, fiber, and healthy fat keeps you satisfied for hours. Smaller meals through the day keep your energy balanced. On holidays, saving up for the big meal, arriving starving, and eating three slices of pie backfires, so Lumine plans a satiating meal earlier in the day.

Fiber from beans, lentils, whole grains, and vegetables feeds the gut bacteria that make short-chain fatty acids, which help steady blood sugar and cool the low-grade inflammation linked to aging. Protein sits on every plate, because midlife muscle needs more of it.

Fatty fish such as salmon, sardines, and mackerel bring EPA and DHA, the omega-3s linked to heart and brain health, and salmon adds selenium. Avocados and olive oil bring monounsaturated fat, which helps your body absorb the fat-soluble vitamins in vegetables.

No fish? Walnuts, flax, chia, and hemp seeds carry ALA, the plant omega-3, and nuts and seeds bring protein, minerals, and the fats that keep you full.

Meals follow the season, warm and slow-cooked as the light shortens, fresh and bright as it returns. Your answers decide the rest: allergies never reach your card, every recipe is free of meat and poultry, and your goal, from more energy to less bloating, chooses the meal that leads your day.

Energy

Wake rested, with energy that carries you through the day.

Morning light sets the clock that releases melatonin at night, and exercise deepens the slow-wave sleep where the body repairs itself. Lumine places your hardest work on the days you recover best and eases off before the full moon, when sleep runs shorter.

The magic ingredient is alignment

Your Body Runs on Three Clocks

We are part of nature, and our bodies still keep its time. When you move, eat, and match the energy of the day, you feel more attuned to your body and mind. You begin to reclaim every part of yourself, to look and feel better, and to wake up excited to embrace each day.

  • Through each day

    Ultradian

The shorter cycles that repeat about every ninety minutes, guiding the stages of your sleep and the rise and fall of your focus. When you align with these rhythms, you sleep more deeply and think more clearly through the day.

  • Every 24 hours

    Circadian

The 24-hour clock that sets your cortisol (the stress hormone) by day and melatonin (the sleep hormone) by night. When it falls out of balance, sleep suffers and weight gathers around the middle.

  • The moon and the seasons

    Infradian

The longer rhythms of your menstrual cycle, the lunar cycle, and the seasons, which shift the activity of nearly a quarter of human genes. As your own cycle changes in midlife, the moon and the seasons become your steadiest guides.

Whether your cycle is unpredictable or has stopped, the moon has your back

“I reversed my biological age by up to fifteen years by becoming more attuned to nature’s rhythm, especially as my own cycle became unpredictable.”

The founder

Julie Elaine Brown, M.A., NASM-CNC, CPT

  • Reversed her biological age, and the age of every organ, by up to fifteen years.
  • Co-founded and ran Rêve Health, a biomarker-driven precision health company.
  • Certified nutrition coach, exercise science minor, and former personal trainer, recertifying with NASM.
  • Five-time founder, M.A. in journalism, strategy for Apple, Google, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer.

In 2022 I almost died after years of being gaslit by doctors, and ended up with two surgeries for misdiagnosed fibroids. I then spent years “biohacking” myself, reversing my biological age 15 years in the process. That’s what led me to co-found Rêve Health, a biomarker startup where we interpreted lab results through an east-meets-west lens.

Lumine started off as my own personal longevity practice. I believe we are a part of nature, and the more we align our daily activities with seasons and nature’s rhythm, the more we thrive, so I created an app to follow the sky and seasons, and deliver tailored guidance each morning.

Now I offer it to you. It will remind you that every day is a great day, and you can make things happen.
