A co-taught proposal for Chuck Goldstone

The Ghostwriter You Direct

A masterclass on making a real ebook with AI, in a voice that stays yours.

The problem worth solving

Core Story teaches founders to find the voice that moves a room. Then they open a blank chat with AI, and the machine hands their voice back to them flattened into everyone else’s.

Every founder writes with AI now, taught or not. The ones who name their voice first get words that sound like them. The rest get competent, on-the-nose copy and can feel it is wrong without knowing how to fix it. This class teaches the fix. Your founders arrive from Core Story already knowing their story and their audience. We pick up there and turn it into something they can hold.

“You teach them to sound human. I make sure they still sound human when the machine is in the room.”

What they make

A short ebook on something only they know

Everyone leaves with one thing: a 12 to 20 page ebook on a subject they know deeply, written in their own voice with AI doing the labor. It is a PDF or an HTML page, ready for their site, their newsletter, or LinkedIn. We are not publishing it and not promising a bestseller. We are making a finished, useful asset they could put behind an email signup the next morning, and handing them the system to make the next one alone.

The six sessions

From what they know to a finished ebook

The first two sessions are about the idea and the story, because nothing worth reading gets written before those are clear. The machine enters in session three, once there is something real for it to serve.

1

The Idea

What do you know that only you know

We start from their ikigai: the place where deep knowledge, hard experience, and genuine interest meet. Every founder has one subject they understand better than almost anyone, and usually undervalues it. This session surfaces it and pressure-tests it, so the ebook is built on the thing they are uniquely qualified to say rather than the thing that sounds impressive.

2

The Story

The premise, the audience, and the promise

From the idea to a real premise. What are they actually teaching, who is it for, and what will that reader be able to do by the last page. We shape the through-line and the working title, and rough the table of contents. By the end they can say the book in one sentence, which is the test of whether it is ready to write.

3

The Conjuring

Their voice, written down so the machine obeys it

Now the machine enters. We build the brand file together: the voice and tone, the look and feel, the list of nevers, the words and cadences that are theirs and the ones that are not. This becomes a real document, a markdown file the AI reads before every draft, so the writing starts from their voice instead of a default. It is the single most valuable thing they leave with, and they will reuse it for years.

4

The Shitty First Draft

An outline, a rough pass, and the raw material

Permission to be bad on purpose. Working from the brand file, they draft the full ebook fast: the outline filled in, a rough first pass of every chapter, and the raw material for the extras, pull quotes, a chart, a simple graphic. Ugly and complete beats polished and half-finished. By the end the whole thing exists on the page.

5

The Deep Edit

Where the machine hands the pen back

The real work, and your ‘final human pass’ as a method. The machine built the structure; now they land the voice. We cut, sharpen, and read every line aloud until it is something only they could have written. This is the session that separates a real ebook from a generated one, and where their taste does the work AI cannot.

6

The Third Pass and the Finish

A designed file, ready to send

A final polish, then the build. The ebook is laid out, the pull quotes and visuals placed, and it is exported as a clean PDF or an HTML page, ready for their site, newsletter, or LinkedIn. We close with the method for what comes after, turning one ebook into a season of writing, with the brand file keeping every piece in voice.

Why the two of us

One of us knows the voice. One of us knows the machine.

This only works as a pairing. The class needs someone who can teach a founder to sound like themselves, and someone who can make the machine hold that voice across twenty pages. Neither half stands alone, which is exactly why it is worth building together.

Chuck teaches the voice

Chuck Goldstone

A globally recognized authority on story and persuasion, who has spent decades teaching founders and leaders to find the words that move a room. Core Story is where they learn what they are actually trying to say, and how to say it so people lean in. That craft is the raw material this class depends on.

Julie runs the machine

Julie Elaine Brown

A four-time founder and former healthcare CEO, journalist by training, now building an AI-assisted longevity venture and running content strategy for a major health system with exactly these methods. She turns a defined voice into a repeatable system, so AI produces at scale without flattening what makes it theirs.

What they keep

Three things that outlast the class

This is what makes the class worth the price. They do not leave with notes on a skill. They leave with a finished asset and the machinery to keep producing.

One

The ebook

A finished 12 to 20 page ebook in their voice, ready for their site or newsletter.

Two

The brand file

Their voice written down: the guidelines and the list of nevers the machine follows every time.

Three

The method

A prompt library and workflow they can run again for the next piece, and the next.

A first draft of an idea I think could be ours. Let’s shape it together.
